Introduction to our Class

I am Miss Cross-Gower and I will be teaching class 6D, the Wolves. This will be my second year in Qatar teaching Year 6. Last year I taught the very first Year 6 class at this school. I taught just outside Winchester, in England, for 3 years before I moved out here. Year 6 is such an important year, as we start to prepare your child for the next step in their education, Secondary School. Therefore I cannot stress how vital it is that every child arrives at school, and is ready to work at 7:00. This year the register will close at 7:05, after that time your child will be marked as late. In the mornings we will be doing revision and brain workouts, which are important and help your child progress, so please make sure your child is on time. Our classroom is located near the side gate which is one of the easiest drop off points for the Wolf class. During play we enforce a ‘No hat, No play’ policy, also every child should bring a piece of fruit as a snack Our first topic this year is Enough for Everyone, this will involve a lot of fun and challenging tasks. I look forward to the year ahead with my new pack of wolves.

Introduction to our Class

I am Mr. Anwari, your new class teacher and I come from a beautiful city called Birmingham in the UK. I am looking forward to being your new class teacher in Year 6B Wildcats’ class. I have been working at DBS Wakra Primary for three years and I have enjoyed watching the school go from strength to strength. During the first few weeks I will arrange an opportunity to meet with all parents. This will give you the opportunity to meet with me and discuss any information that may be valuable and discuss general information such as homework. Children will also need to have a healthy ‘snack’ like fruit which they can eat during the first morning break. Children must also have a clearly labelled hat for playtime outside. We operate a ‘no hat – no play’ policy.

This half term our topic will be “Enough For Everyone” and there are a lot of fun and exciting activities planned! You will also be taught PE by Mr. Johnston or Mr Shovelton and either Spanish by Mrs. Anna or Arabic by Mrs. Rana/Mr Mohammad. Music will be taught by Ms Verlato. School begins at 7.00am and registration will close at 7:05 prompt. You should be on time to collect your child at 1:30pm.
