5th January 2017

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to Spring term at DBS Wakra. I hope you all had a restful holiday and are looking forward to this new term as much as we are. I would like to particularly welcome our new students and their parents to our community.

This term there are many events and activities taking place, which are noted below. There are also some important points I would like to share with you.

New Parents Meeting- Monday 9th January at 12:30. This meeting will be with me and Mrs. Nazly Khan (Deputy Head) where you will be informed about procedures and policies at DBS Wakra after this meeting at 1:30 you will be able to meet with your class teacher to ask any questions and to get more detailed information about your child’s education. If your child is in EYFS please arrange with the class teacher for them to stay in the crèche in order that you can attend the meeting.

Lunches- Please make sure that all lunches are pre- ordered. Hot lunches must be ordered in advance, menus are sent out for this purpose. Children can order hot snacks at first break to avoid queuing at lunch time.

Uniform- we are a uniformed school. All children must wear full school uniform. Cardigans and jumpers that are not school uniform are not allowed. Zaks has school sweat shirts for children to wear in cold weather.

Footwear- black school shoes are part of our school uniform. Black or white trainers are not allowed as school shoes they are for PE lessons only.

Please help us to maintain our high standards by ensuring your children are in full uniform for school.

End of term raffle- please check if you are the winner of one of the raffle prizes. The winning numbers are on the notice board and the prize is written on the back of the strip of tickets.

QAWs dog shelter- the bake sale and the raffle managed to raise QR 2,982 as a donation to the shelter. Thank you to the PTA members who organized these events and to all parents and children for supporting these two activities.
