Ms. Mason and Dr. Vineeta Khan along with wonderful KS3 students newspaper team are extremely happy and proud to present to you the very first edition of our ambitious student led school newspaper - DBS Bugle.
All students involved have worked delicately with the best of their capabilities. Hard copies are also available at the school reception, library and Head's offices for you to have a look.
Cat Weatherill, a popular children’s author visited the school to talk about her books and stories and her journey to becoming a well-known author. The children were enthralled as she narrated her own life story and read passages from some of her books. The Early Years and KS1 children thoroughly enjoyed an interactive performance of some of her own and other well-known stories. Cat also signed copies of her own books which we are sure the children will always treasure. Cat was so impressed by the school and DBS Al Wakra children - she even commented that in 20 years of doing school visits, our children at DBS Al Wakra asked her the best, thought provoking questions she has ever been asked!
Our wonderful new play equipment for the EYFS has been installed and now that the weather is cooler the children have been able to enjoy using the equipment. The sand tray and bench, the water area, activity wall, mud kitchen and reading area have been a great hit with the children and will help to develop all areas of the EYFS early learning goals.
We have some great news for Qatari families looking at schools in the Al Wakra area. From now on, Qataris are eligible for school vouchers at DBS Al Wakra from Pre-school up to Year 9. Call us on +974 4019 8080 for more information.
Parents of secondary age students are invited to discuss our school and its expertly planned curriculum, as well as any other issues that they would like to raise, with senior leaders in an informal setting every two weeks. 1st session will be on Thursday 26th September at 8:00 am.
The annual yearbook is something that the students and parents always look up to at the end of each year. DBS commemorated the academic year in a special way by distributing the yearbook online and totally free of charge. Though the physical sheets are absent this time, we are glad to have a piece of this year’s memories through the online edition of the DBS 2019-2020 Yearbook.
